With the end of the calendar year drawing near we wanted to share with you five fundraising tips and tricks to help you finish the year out strong.
Tip #1: Let’s make a match!
Many companies offer matching gift opportunities that double, even triple employee fundraising efforts. Check with your company’s HR department to see if matching is available and watch your total soar!
*In 2017 over 280 companies contributed funds to AIDS/LifeCycle participants through gift matching programs. Is your employer on this list?
Tip #2: Don’t buy, GIVE!
The holidays pose a perfect time to ask for support. Ask your friends and family to donate to your fundraising efforts. They get to skip the lines at stores, there’s no shipping fees, AND no gift receipts necessary!
Tip #3: Go BIG.
Remind potential donors this is the final month to make those last minute tax deductible donations! Talk up the monthly installment options so folks know they can split donations up over 2-10 month payments.
Tip #4: Set an intention.
Set mini-milestones for your fundraising journey. Is your aim to be halfway to your goal by the end of the year? Raise $1,500 for the hoodie? Talk to your network and enlist them in helping you reach your goals.
Tip #5: Get weird.
Have a special talent you can leverage for donations? Maybe you’re an excellent baker or artist? Willing to give yourself a wild haircut for large gifts? Creativity in your fundraising keeps it interesting and motivating for you AND your donors!
