Beaumont: 52 Miles Hosted by Desert Roadrunners
January 22@ 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Beaumont – Lake Perris – 79
52 Miles, Steep Hills with Long Climbs (Additional Details Below)
Ride ID 2627
Meet: 8:30 AM
Ride-Out: 9:00 AM
We’ll meet at the Starbucks on Oak Valley Pkwy in Beaumont at 8:30 am, ride out at 9 am. We are starting a little later than we normally do due to both early morning cold temps and the drive to get there (carpooling encouraged). Plan on 45 min to get from PS to Beaumont. Temps will be very chilly (mid-40s to start), so please dress accordingly! It’ll be sunny & temps will rise to near 60. We head west on Oak Valley Pkwy for an 11 mile easy downhill. Then, south on Redlands for a 2 mile 6% climb. Next, we’ll head all the way around Lake Perris, with a pit stop or 2 before heading north on the 79 at mile 39 for a 5 mile, 6-7% average climb back to the start in Beaumont. The 79 is slightly longer than the 74 and steeper, so slow & steady is the game plan. Stop if you need to on the way up – plenty of great views & picture opportunities. Most will be done by 2 pm.
GPS file available on Roadrunner Facebook page (must be member)
All skill levels are welcome! If any ride is too much, we will work with you on making sure you have alternatives to the entire route. You will have a great bike ride. That’s a win! And remember, safety is critical. We will be following all bicycling laws and regulations as well as COVID regulations.!
