Our monthly Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) Folks training ride will be a ~30-mile, flat ride starting at Fruitvale BART station plaza (in front of Wahpepeh’s Kitchen). We will ride to the Emeryville Shellmound Memorial, break at Bicycle Coffee in Jack London Square, and then pedal around Alameda island to return. All skill levels are welcome! If any ride is too much, we will work with you on making sure you have alternatives to the entire route. You will have a great bike ride. That’s a win! And remember, safety is critical. We will be following all bicycling laws and regulations as well as COVID regulations.!

The AIDS/LifeCycle BIPOC group is a community within a community – where Black, Indigenous, and People of Color can train together, share tips and resources about how to prepare for the Ride, and find empowerment in taking on the challenge of AIDS/LifeCycle. This space is intended for all folks who identify as BIPOC but all are welcomed to attend. We ask that you please honor the space.

We’ll have printed route sheets for all who RSVP and we’ll go over important safety tips in the morning. AIDS/LifeCycle training rides are planned and supported by Training Ride Leaders and we can’t wait to train with you this season!

Reach out with any of your questions or concerns. You really can do this!

If you are interested in attending, please RSVP so we have an idea of whose coming. Have questions? Contact J-Wo Wong and Emer Pacleb at jwong@aidslifecycle.org

REQUIRED ITEMS: bike, helmet, water bottle(s), tire changing tools, and a mask.

COVID-19 Policy: Vaccination is required to participate. All participants must have received one Johnson & Johnson dose or the second Pfizer/Moderna dose at least two weeks before the Training Ride. Masks are required when 6’ of social distancing cannot be maintained.
