Welcome to the Saturday East Bay training series! This series is designed as slow ramp-up starter series for new riders but welcomes riders at all skill levels, including those who haven’t ridden a bike in years and those who may be recovering from injuries.
A longtime Wildcat favorite, this week we head out to the Morgan Territory. Be sure to stuff your pockets with plenty of food as our first official stop is not until mile 23 in Clayton. From Clayton we head to the Morgan Territory and climb climb climb to a staging area with pit toilets. The descent from the summit is quite steep and the views are very distracting. Pay attention and be safe. We loop around and head to Draeger’s in Blackhawk for lunch, mile 54. From there we head back through Danville, Rossmoor, and Lafayette before returning to Orinda. There are no easy shortcuts on this route so be sure that you are ready for the mileage. Two water bottles are a must!
All skill levels are welcome! If any ride is too much, we will work with you on making sure you have alternatives to the entire route. You will have a great bike ride. That’s a win!
