We are a group of cyclists who enjoy cycling the roads of Southern California, primarily Orange County. Members also train for the AIDS/LifeCycle (545 mile ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise money for AIDS services in California). We are a welcoming group focused on training and comradery. Join us in Orange County for a training ride!
This is WK 02 of the 2024 training season and we’ll increase our standard route to 16 miles and add a rest stop at Starbucks after riding through beautiful Back Bay. Our advanced route will be 33 miles and will head out to the City of Orange.
The standard ride is for those who haven’t ridden long distances previously with the intention of working up to being able to do the ALC ride with confidence. Today’s ride is pretty much flat with a couple of short climbs. We’ll leave from the Carl’s Jr. parking lot at Michelson and Culver in Irvine and ride through Back Bay before returning pretty much the same way after a rest stop at Jamboree and Bayside Drive.
The Advanced route will leave from the Carl’s Jr. parking lot at Michelson and Culver in Irvine and ride to Bruxie in the city of Orange. There will be a few hills going into Orange and a nice downhill on Jamboree before heading back to the cars. This ride adds up to a little over 33 miles.
The standard route is at:https://ridewithgps.com/routes/45288133/
The advanced route is at:https://ridewithgps.com/routes/45288013/
All skill levels are welcome! If any ride is too much, we will work with you on making sure you have alternatives to the entire route. You will have a great bike ride. That’s a win! And remember, safety is critical. We will be following all bicycling laws and regulations as well as COVID regulations.!
