2022 AIDS/LifeCycle Kickoff Ride — Portland
It’s time! Our official Team Portland AIDS/LifeCycle kickoff ride is this Saturday! Please join us. Whether or not you can ride Saturday, we’re hoping everyone in the AIDS/LifeCycle circle up here in Portland can stop by to say hello before we ride out. Let’s get the season (officially) started right! Here are the pertinent details:
Times, Dates, Required Equipment:
- Meet at 10 am at Brooklyn Park, SE 10th Avenue, and Haig Street. Water and restrooms available. Street parking. Coffee across the street. (Yes, this means that there’s time to go to the Showers Pass sale at 9 am, and the park is pretty close by, too!)
- Meet and greet with riders and visitors until 10:30 or so, then we’ll do the safety speech and ride out.
- Everyone who’s riding needs a helmet, water bottle, and tube repair items (tube, levers, and a pump or inflators).
Route:
- We’ll head down to Gladstone via Milwaukie, with two options to head back: Trolley Trail if you want easier, or River Road if you want a momentary 6% grade. The total ride is about 24 miles.
- Easier route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/37746807
- Slightly harder route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/37746815
- No SAG on this ride, but David will be by to say hello!
Other notes:
- This will be handled as an official training ride. ALC rules in effect.
- Proof of vaccination, photo ID verification, and masks are required for participation. All participants must have received one Johnson & Johnson shot or second Pfizer/Moderna shot by October 2nd. The most recent CDC guidelines on how to protect yourself and others from COVID-19 can be found here.
