Test your fitness pre-ALC, take a weekend away and join us for a day bicycling around Lake Tahoe! This event is so fun and yet challenging enough that you’re in for an amazing adventure! We ride a clockwise-loop circling the gorgeous lake on a weekend bicycle-getaway designed especially for AIDS/LifeCycle participants and their friends.
Bicycling does not get more beautiful than this. The setting for this ultimate bike trip is spectacular with incredible vista views of the lake among tall, pine forests. Plan to spend between four and eight hours on this 72-mile route, depending on your conditioning. Elevations go up to 6,800 feet with around 4,100′ elevation increase for the day. While all are welcome, the length of the trip combined with the many elevation differences makes this a route recommended for well-conditioned riders. Message Jamie if you have questions.
While we’re cycling only the 20th, you should arrive at the Lake Tahoe north shore at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa And Casino host hotel (or your own arrangements) by Friday, May 19th. Hotel check-in starts at 4pm. Some will want to meet for dinner or drinks that evening. The Hyatt features beautiful rooms, suites, and cottages with breathtaking views and premium amenities and they’re a stone’s throw from a walk on the beach. To book a room, see https://www.hyatt.com/en-US/group-booking/TVLLT/G-CYCL or call 1-775-832-1234 for reservations. Various price ranges are available depending on views and access. There are fees for parking to consider as well.
All skill levels are welcome! If any ride is too much, we will work with you on making sure you have alternatives to the entire route. You will have a great bike ride. That’s a win!
