Chain Gang Loops the Studios, TWICE, And Climbs The Library!
23 Miles, Mostly flat with some rolling hills
Meet: 8:00 AM
Ride-Out: 8:30 AM
Heavy Rain Cancels
Join the Chain Gang for our second ride of the year, an easy spin through Griffith Park and the Burbank Studio loop (with the loop done twice to get in some extra mileage) and a short, easy climb up to the Brand Library for an extra little challenge. This ride is specifically designed for our beginner riders who are just starting their training – from Crystal Springs Picnic Area, we make our way through the park, past the zoo and Travel Town and onto the quiet streets of Burbank. We pass the studios and the Equestrian Center along Riverside, then back through the park and out for another loop before heading up Sonora for a short, gentle and easy climb up to the Brand Library. After a quick stop for rest rooms and water, we get to enjoy the gentle downhill back towards the park as we return to our starting point.
We will have plenty of ride leaders to guide you, and help you with any questions or concerns. As always, nobody is left behind!
Driving Direction: We will meet at the Lower Crystal Springs Picnic Area in Griffith Park – from Crystal Springs Drive, go down the hill past the Ranger Station, and keep to the right at the bottom of the hill at the bathroom building. Continue along the far side of the baseball field until the road turns to the left away from the field. We will be in that part of the parking lot, look for TRL’s in bright orange vests!
The route is at:https://ridewithgps.com/routes/45284051/
All skill levels are welcome! If any ride is too much, we will work with you on making sure you have alternatives to the entire route. You will have a great bike ride. That’s a win! And remember, safety is critical. We will be following all bicycling laws and regulations as well as COVID regulations.!
Reach out with any of your questions or concerns. You really can do this.
