Los Angeles: 12 Miles Hosted by the Chain Gang
January 7@ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Chain Gang – Basic Bike Skills Clinic
12 Miles Mostly Flat
Ride ID 2560
Meet: 8:00 AM
Ride-Out: 8:30 AM
Join the Chain Gang for a Bike Skills Clinic to learn the basics of your bicycle, how to ride your bike safely and efficiently, how to ride with others in a group, and a quick intro to climbing and descending. We will meet at our usual spot at Crystal Springs Lower Picnic Area and start with a short introduction to your bike, and the basics of starting, stopping, riding, climbing and descending. Then we take our new skills out on the road in the park and around the studio loop to practice the techniques we have learned. All skill levels are welcome – this is a great clinic for learning and practicing the basics and get comfortable on your bike and riding in a group.
Driving Direction: We will meet at the Lower Crystal Springs Picnic Area in Griffith Park – from Crystal Springs Drive, go down the hill past the Ranger Station, and keep to the right at the bottom of the hill at the bathroom building. Continue along the far side of the baseball field until the road turns to the left away from the field. We will be in that part of the parking lot, look for TRL’s in bright orange vests!
All skill levels are welcome! If any ride is too much, we will work with you on making sure you have alternatives to the entire route. You will have a great bike ride. That’s a win! And remember, safety is critical. We will be following all bicycling laws and regulations as well as COVID regulations.!
