Join the Chain Gang for a beautiful ride along the Pacific Ocean as we build up the miles in preparation for the Paul Hulse Century! We meet at the CoffeeBean at Cross Creek as our starting point, and head North on PCH towards Trancas, Leo Carillo and The Rock, with some rolling hills and a nice, wider shoulder to ride on all the way to Point Mugu.
The shorter route (approx 52 miles) turns around at the Pt Mugu bridge and heads back the way we came, while the longer route turns onto Las Posas, and then onto Hueneme Road all the way to our turnaround point at Wendy’s in Oxnard. We regroup there, with lots of different options for lunch and refueling, before we return to Hueneme Road, and a scenic detour along Naval Air Road on our way back to PCH.
With the ocean now on our right, we follow the coast all the way back to Cross Creek with gorgeous views all along the route – you might even get to see some dolphins or whales!
This is the perfect ride for building up your miles and getting in some great training for upcoming centuries (and of course ALC), so join us for a beautiful ride!
All skill levels are welcome! If any ride is too much, we will work with you on making sure you have alternatives to the entire route. You will have a great bike ride. That’s a win! And remember, safety is critical. We will be following all bicycling laws and regulations as well as COVID regulations.!
