MARIN SOCIAL RIDE – PETALUMA VIA WILSON HILL
61.6 Miles, Rolling Hills and Steep Climbs
Meet: 8:00 AM
Ride-Out: 8:30 AM
Heavy Rain Cancels
Almost every Sunday, the Marauders meet for a social ride! We are a group of ALC folks who just enjoy getting out there and hitting the road together. Each ride is different. Some are short, others longer! Watch for a ride you would like to join!
This ride takes us to Petaluma for lunch, and home via Novato. We head out over to Fairfax, taking a right after Whites Hill to stop at Rancho Nicasio. Heading on past the Nicasio Reservoir, we’ll take a right at the Petaluma Point Reyes Road and head up to the Marin Cheese Factory for a second quick rest and regroup. Leaving the Cheese factory, we take a left at Hicks Valley Road and tackle challenging Wilson’s Hill (everyone’s favorite!), enjoy the spectacular view from the top, and the ensuing decent. We will have lunch in Petaluma, and enjoy a route back to Novato using bike paths where possible. Our last stop will be in Novato, then through San Rafael, which will take us home back to Hal Brown Park.
Reach out with any of your questions or concerns. You really can do this.
Our social rides are just that! Social!! No TRLs, No Support, and No route sheets! Just a bunch of friendly folks riding together! This is NOT an official ALC ride.
If you are interested in attending, please RSVP so we have an idea of whose coming. Have questions? Contact Ken at marinmarauders@gmail.com
REQUIRED ITEMS: bike, helmet, water bottle(s), tire changing tools, and a mask.
Parking: The rangers have politely asked us to NOT park directly in front of the park. Rather park further down Bon Air Road or on the opposite side of the street from the Park. By doing so, we will give greater access to the park by other patrons
