South Bay Blaze #15 – Alpine/Crystal Springs Ride
Ride ID: 1241
75.5 Miles, Rolling Hills and Steep Climbs
Meet: 8:00 AM
Ride-Out: 8:45 AM
Welcome to the South Bay Blaze training rides, a carefully-crafted route series designed to build your strength, safety, and confidence before the ride in June. These winter/spring series rides are a great way for you to train and become ‘road-ready’ without being left behind. Each week’s route includes an increase in climbing with an uptick in mileage as well, and are proven perfect for strength building and endurance. The rides in this series are posted as “all pace levels welcome.” All AIDS/LifeCycle official training rides are inclusive and safe spaces welcoming ANY and ALL, regardless of skill level or cycling pace. Bring along some snack cash for the route and lunch money for a lunch stop or at the Country Gourmet across the street once everyone gets back.
Welcome to the South Bay Blaze training rides. This ride of our 2022 training series is another significant challenge, as we’ll be doing more climbing today. Don’t be afraid of climbing hills; see them as your strength builders. We’re heading up the peninsula this weekend by way up Canada Road toward Skyline and on to the newly reopened Crystal Springs Reservoir, crossing over to Polhemus, then accessing the Crestview Dr. climb exiting out to Edgewood, heading back in the flats near the bay, before returning to Sunnyvale. A super fun ride.
All skill levels are welcome! If any ride is too much, we will work with you on making sure you have alternatives to the entire route. You will have a great bike ride. That’s a win! And remember, safety is critical. We will be following all bicycling laws and regulations as well as COVID regulations.!
