Duarte: 52 Miles Hosted by the The Chain Gang!
December 17, 2022@ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Chain Gang Revisits the River Path
52 Miles Mostly Flat
Ride ID 2543
Meet: 8:00 AM
Ride-Out: 8:30 AM
Join the Chain Gang for our last ride of 2022 with an easy spin along the river path, perfect for a stress-free break in the busy holiday season.
The route takes us through the wonderful San Gabriel River Bike Path (SGRT) along the scenic San Gabriel River, across the Santa Fe Dam and continuing down the bike path towards the ocean. It’s a mostly flat ride with a great view of the river and all the beautiful nature along the route.
This time, we keep going past the Rio Hondo/Whittier Narrows junction and the Pico Rivera Golf Course and continue along the river path for another 7 miles. After a pitstop at a park (restrooms and water are available), we turn around and retrace our route, past the golf course and finally tackling the short climb back up to Santa Fe Dam on our way back to Encanto Park.
Directions and Parking: please park along the street (on East side) just outside the main Encanto Parking lot, and look for the bright orange ALC Training Ride Leader vests to find us, since many different cyclists meet for rides at this park.
All skill levels are welcome! If any ride is too much, we will work with you on making sure you have alternatives to the entire route. You will have a great bike ride. That’s a win! And remember, safety is critical. We will be following all bicycling laws and regulations as well as COVID regulations.!
Reach out with any of your questions or concerns. You really can do this.
