Welcome to the Saturday East Bay training series! This series is designed as slow ramp-up starter series for new riders but welcomes riders at all skill levels, including those who haven’t ridden a bike in years and those who may be recovering from injuries.
This is the week of two bridges – join us as we cross both the Carquinez and Benicia Bridges. We head off to Starbucks in Hercules for our first rest stop. From there we pass through Martinez before heading to Crockett and getting on the Carquinez Bridge by the Dead Fish restaurant. Once over the bridge we loop through Vallejo before stopping for lunch in Benicia at Rrags Caffe. From lunch we head over the Benicia Bridge for our last rest stop at the Starbucks in Martinez. We continue on Alhambra Valley Road and towards the end of our route, climb Pig Farm Hill before hitting Castro Ranch Road and San Pablo Dam Road. This route is one big loop with no easy shortcuts.
The route can be found at: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/29289390/
All skill levels are welcome! If any ride is too much, we will work with you on making sure you have alternatives to the entire route. You will have a great bike ride. That’s a win!
Reach out with any of your questions or concerns. You really can do this.
